NOTICE OF RACE WINDSURF
THE REAL TRIP
Stichting Beach Events Makkum

1. VENUE
1.1. The Real Trip will be held on 16 & 17 September 2023 on Makkum Beach, The Netherlands.

2. RULES
2.1. The regatta will be organized by Stichting Beach Events Makkum with the expectation that de competitors will compete with fair play.
There is no jury, so protests between competitors will be rejected.
The race officers can give warnings to competitors who do not comply with the fair play rule. If necessary a competitor can be disqualified by the race officers.
2.2. The “National Anti-Doping Regulations for Dutch Sport” will apply.

3. CLASSES AND DIVISIONS
3.1.The Real Trip is open for boards of the Funboard class in the Fin, Foil and Wing:
3.2 The following divisions apply:
a. Pro Fleet
b. Men
c. Women
3.3 The following subdivisions apply:
Masters over the age of 40 (born in or before 1983)
Youth till 17 years old (born in 2006 or after)
Junior till 14 years old (born in 2009 or after)
3.4. A minimum of 5 competitors are required to constitute a division.
3.5. All Riders who are officially registered at their national sailing organisation and are
equipped with official sail-numbers are allowed to register, in their appropriate age
division but can be transferred to the Pro Fleet by the Race Officers.
4. FEES
4.1. The entree fee will be:
70,00 EUROS Pro Fleet, Men, Woman and Masters
60,00 EUROS Youth
35,00 EUROS Junior
Entry fee is including BBQ & Party on Saturday.
4.2. A deposit shall be paid for the lycras. These lycras will be supplied in the Race Office. The deposit is € 20,- and shall be paid in the Race Office.
The € 20,- will be refunded after the race when the lycra is returned to the Race Office in good condition.
5. RACE FORMAT
5.1. The race format will be slalom/race, Pro Fleet Men, Women and Youth.
5.2 All divisions will race together in long-distance with rabbit start.
5.3 All classes Fin, Foil and Wing will start separately
5.4. The Junior fleet is racing a slalom only in the Makkum bay.
5.5. Competitors shall race a maximum of 6 races per day
5.6. Racing shall take place in suitable class=table conditions; there must be a minimum wind speed of
8 knots for the Foil and Wing class and 11 knots for the Fin Class during the last 2
minutes before the official start and a maximum wind speed of 22 knots.
Above this maximum wind, the Race Officers may decide on an alternative Race
Format. Please notice that the Race Officers have the final call in the decision to start or
cancel the race, all depend on local circumstance like waves, wind gusts and other
risks during the race.
6. SCHEDULE
6.1.Registration is open from 8:30 till 10:30AM (At Race Office).

First skippers meeting at Saturday 11:00AM.
7. EQUIPMENT & EQUIPMENT INSPECTION
7.1. It is according to the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that his/her
equipment is according to the following rules.
Maximum sail size of 10.0 m2 for all Class
Board width of 91 for the Fin Class
7.2. A personal floatation or impact device is required for all Class competitors!
The organization is allowed to check the presence and use of a personal floatation or
impact device.
7.3 Foil and Wing Class competitors are obliged to wear a helmet.
7.4 Competitors that are not compliant with 7.2 and or 7.3 are not allowed to start the
race and will not receive any entry fee refund.
7.5. Equipment inspections may be made at any time during the event.
8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
8.1.The sailing instructions will be available at the registration office at time of registration.
9. SCORING
9.1. The low point scoring system
9.2. All competitors who did not start or finish, but are registered for the race shall score
DNS. All competitors who are not registered for the race shall score DNC.
9.3. To constitute a championship it is required to complete one race.
9.4 On every 4 races one Discard.
10. PRIZES
10.1.Winners of the overall scoring in the several divisions will be awarded.
10.2. For each class and divisions prizes are available for:
First three competitors when 5 or more competitors in the division.
11. OFFICIAL CEREMONIES
11.1. Competitors are requested to attend the event’s social functions,
the prize giving will be in front of the Race Office at the Sunday 17:00PM
12. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
12.1. Competitors participate in the event entirely at their own risk,
The organizing authority or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors
or their officials or representatives will not accept any liability for material
damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to,
during or after the event.
